How to Make Air Fryer Eggs

four steps illustrated

Step 1: Place your eggs in air fryer basket leaving plenty of room between eggs. Set temperature to 275 degrees F and set timer based on desired egg:

For hard-boiled eggs, cook for 13-15 minutes.

For jammy eggs, cook for 12-13 minutes.

For soft-boiled eggs, cook for 9-11 minutes.

Step 2: Immediately transfer cooked eggs to ice water bath.

Step 3: Peel eggs before enjoying or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Expert Tips

If cooking multiple types of eggs (hard and soft-boiled), cook second batch at the lower range of time since the air fryer will essentially have been preheated from first batch. Or, a more efficient option would be to cook all eggs at once and take them out at set intervals, i.e. set the time for 15 minutes but take out a couple for soft-boiled at the 9 minute mark, and let the rest cook for 15 minutes until hard-boiled.

Air fryers vary by manufacturer in terms of cooking times and temperatures so cooking times may vary slightly depending on what type of air fryer you have.

Recipe FAQs

Will eggs explode in the air fryer?

It is a myth that eggs will explode in the air fryer. When cooked properly according to instructions, eggs will not explode in the air fryer.

How many eggs can you cook in the air fryer?

It really depends on the size of the air fryer you’re using. I have a XXL air fryer and can comfortably fit several eggs.

How long can you store air fryer eggs for?

It’s best to store hard-boiled eggs with shells on in the refrigerator to protect them from any bacteria or absorbing any odors in the fridge. Eggs can be kept for up to one week in the refrigerator. If eggs have already been peeled, keep them fresh and moist by placing a damp paper towel above and below in an airtight container.

How do you use air fryer eggs?

I like making hard boiled eggs in the air fryer to have on hand for snacks during the week or for baby-led weaning meals for my baby. I season with salt and pepper or my favorite, EBTB seasoning. I also will make hard boiled eggs and chop them up / combine with mayo for egg salad to use on sandwiches.

I also will make soft boiled eggs to have with breakfast (and dunk with toast, obviously) or make jammy eggs to put on top of salads for lunch!
