Life Updates & Gratitude

  • Steve and I picked a wedding venue and date! We’re getting married next July in a beautiful restored barn from the 1800s in a suburb of Buffalo, NY (where Steve and I grew up and met). It’s feeling real!
  • Teaching yoga has been going well! Grateful for the opportunity to share yoga with folks, many of whom are practicing for the very first time! It’s very rewarding.
  • Grateful for working from home during these crazy snow storms! Glad I don’t have to brave the awful commutes and traffic.
  • Grateful for coffee shops, stevie wonder, and americanos on snowy afternoons.
  • Looking forward to the weekend ahead to go skiing with Steve and totally disconnect (we literally made a pact that we wouldn’t touch our phones on Sat or Sun).
  • Grateful for hot sweaty yoga practices during these frigid days.

What are your weekend plans?  Enjoy the weekend, friends! xo

  1. A little late but thanks for those great links!!! Hope your weekend was way fun!!

  2. Hi Kara! I hope you had a nice weekend. All of these foods and drinks look just amazing. And I must say, I went to hot power yoga this week after being away from it for a while, and it felt amazing. It’s not very cold in the Bay Area right now, but something about a sweaty yoga class is just the best feeling ever. Happy Monday to you!

  3. I clicked and read through all your mindful inspirations. Yes, I’ve been networking quite a bit and instead of trying to squeeze it in in the middle of the day, I want to try to meet with someone in the morning. Also, creating something instead of checking my emails, blog, etc. sounds like something I’d love to incorporate into my daily routine. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but you and Rachael have convinced me..TedX is pretty awesome! Hope you had a wonderful time with Steve!!

    • Thanks, Min! Haha yes, I’m obsessed with TedX…glad you’re finding it inspiring! And that’s awesome about networking often – so invaluable. Love meeting new peeps and learning from everyone’s unique experiences and journeys. And Steve and I had such an amazing weekend together, which I’m convinced is largely due to the fact that we both disconnected 100%. No checking emails or social. We were both so present with each other. It was AWESOME. I said we need to do that more at home and not just when we go away together.

  4. I can not wait to see pictures! What a beautiful place to have the wedding!

  5. Congrats on the wedding plans! Such an exciting time 🙂 Great roundup and inspiration, as usual!

  6. I love that big beautiful smile!!

  7. Kara! Thank you for the love! Those dark chocolate raspberry hemp truffles look out of this world and I can’t wait to whip up my own batch… they look so good!

  8. Ugh your truffles are so mouthwatering – yum! I too, am very grateful to currently be working from home during these frigid temps! I may have to take your advice and put down the phone this weekend. Enjoy your time away!

  9. Great round up for this week, Kara! Have a terrific skiing trip!

  10. I am with you about the sweaty yoga classes this winter. I’ve been doing much more yoga lately because I can’t seem to bring myself to brave the cold
