A video (and recipe!) that explains what kefir is, why it’s so good for you and how to use kefir in the kitchen.
Welp, the two weeks of travel finally caught up to me. After Nashville, I was home in Boston for 24 hours before leaving again – this time to Buffalo, NY for wedding planning and engagement pictures! Check out my Instagram for a sneak peak from the shoot! It was a fun but busy weekend and by the end of the weekend, I started to feel the first signs of a cold coming on. Luckily, it was still under decent control for the engagement pics (at least I could breathe out of my nose) but after the plane ride back to Boston on Tuesday morning, it was all downhill from there. My ears and nose have been plugged ever since. So I’m trying to take it as easy as I can this week. Drinking all the fluids. Eating all the soup. And loading up on my vitamins….and my probiotics.
Speaking of which…today’s video and recipe is all about a probiotic packed food – kefir! I wrote an article a while back for Today.com about kefir and thought I’d create a video to tell you what kefir is exactly, why it’s so good for you, and how you can use it in the kitchen.
Plus, I created a special recipe for this video which you can check out below too!Print
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup packed chopped kale (stems removed)
- 1 1/2 cups plain kefir
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
