How do I even begin to summarize 2.5 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia? Even if I could, it would surely surpass the appropriate word count for a blog post by miles. Hence, I  present to you a top-ten list of what I learned while overseas:

10. My new favorite word (and mode of transportation) is tuk-tuk. Say it once and you won’t be able to stop.

9. Temples are the most intricate beautiful structures I’ve ever seen in my life.

7. As much as I love singing “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof, I enjoy seeing them in-person much more.

    Hi Kara!
I’m looking into planning a trip to Cambodia, but will only be able to take a week off work. What was the best way to get around (tuk-tuk) from Siem Reap to the coast and what beaches would you recommend in Cambodia? Where was the elephant sanctuary you were at?
Sorry for all the questions – there is a lot of info online and it can be overwhelming!
    Thank you!
    Katie

    • Hey Katie! I actually only stayed in Siem Reap and didn’t venture to any beaches in Cambodia, only in Thailand. The best way to get around Siem Reap is definitely tuk-tuk. We took a tuk-tuk to do our river boat tour. And the elephant sanctuary we went to was in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It’s so hard to decide what to do and see with only a week! I feel your pain! You will have an incredible experience no matter where in Southeast Asia you go though.
