In one week from today, I’ll be peace-ing out of Boston to escape to the beautiful mountains of Vermont for an exclusive event for healthy food bloggers, Blog Brûlée. Blog Brûlée is an intimate, invitation-only, experiential weekend for healthy food bloggers designed to provide education and professional development opportunities around topics such as food photography, social media, marketing and communications, community development, and brand identity. Needless to say, I’m in for a serious treat!
This event was co-founded by four of my dietitian friends and colleagues that I greatly admire: Regan Miller Jones, Deanna Segrave-Daly, Robin Plotkin, and Gretchen Brown. Check out their blogs and you won’t have to ask twice why these ladies are serious RD rockstars. I feel so grateful that they selected me to attend and that I’ll have the chance to hang with them and 19 other awesome healthy food bloggers including Imma Eat That, 30 Seconds with A&J, Love & Zest, Fresh Food Perspectives, Marisa Moore Nutrition, Nutritioulicious, Food Confidence, NourishRDs, The Adventures of MJ and Hungryman, and Down to Earth Dietitian (to name a handful) for the weekend.
Truth be told, the invitation to this event was one of the events that happened this year that inspired me to have the confidence to branch out on my own. Seriously. The invitation confirmed what I already knew deep down inside but needed some external reinforcement to be sure: that my blog has mad potential. Before I re-branded from PLF, I was so proud of my content – the recipes I was developing, the beautiful photography I was creating, but I knew I wanted to take it to the next level. Giving the site a fresh new look and rebranding to TFD was the first step. But I know I have a ways to go and am excited for the journey to continue to help inspiring my readers, one blog post at a time.
I can’t wait to share with you what I learn at Blog Brûlée and start implementing it here on TFD. As I continue to evolve and grow professionally and personally, so will this blog, and I’m thrilled you’re here along for the ride.
